The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Biochemistry team. This is a fulltime, fixed term position, working 80 hours per fortnight, based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

 

Your Opportunity:

  • This position is within the biochemistry department, Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus.
  • The successful applicant will join the existing pool of scientists in a Full Time Fixed Term basis - 06/01/2020 to 27/06/2020
  • Report to the Principal Scientist, Grade 4 Scientist and Chemical Pathologist.
  • Located in the manual chemistry laboratory, applicants may be asked to participate in our rotational shift roster.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or in applied science, or an equivalent qualification
  • Master degree in a similar field or higher qualification such as MAACB, FAIMS, PhD or equivalent
  • Experience in a tertiary hospital biochemistry laboratory is beneficial
  • Capability with relevant new technologies such as Mass Spectrometry
