A multi-disciplinary workforce of 1,800 staff provides services through four Area Adult Mental Health Services (North West, Mid West, Inner West and Northern), an Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program and a Youth Mental Health Service – ORYGEN Youth Health. NWMH is a clinical service of Melbourne Health and operates in partnership with Northern Health and Western Health. Senior Psychiatric Nurse Position - RPN4 - North West Area Mental Health Service - Brunswick Community Team - Full time - ADO's - Salary Packaging About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and adaptable Senior Psychiatric Nurse to work with the NWAMHS - Brunswick Community Mental Health Team. We are seeking a nurse with at least 5 years of clinical experience that has an interest and skill in providing high level clinical expertise within the Community Team with respect to the assessment and treatment of consumers with complex mental health related needs and their family/carers, as well as supporting other clinicians in the delivery of high quality mental health care. The Brunswick Community Mental Health Team is an integral program of North West Area Mental Health service. We provide services for adults whom are experiencing mental illness who require either short, medium or longer term support or care. Consumers reside in the City of Moreland & Hume. The successful applicant will have a sound working knowledge of the recovery framework and Mental Health Act 2014 along with other relevant legislations. The successful applicant will be able to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, monitoring and treatment to an allocated case load of consumers. In this role you may also undertake duties such as New Patient Assessments, “Duty” and some rostered work with our brief intervention component providing Acute assessments. As a Senior Nurse the successful applicant will be involved in provision of clinical supervision and education as well as participating in service development activities within the Team and encouraging and supporting quality initiatives and research.
