We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

 

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This is a Part Time Fixed Term position, working 64 hours per fortnight, until December 2019

 

Your Opportunity:

 

On 6 South East ward we can provide an opportunity for you to develop and refine your leadership and managerial skills in a supportive environment. In turn, this role allows you to support the Nurse Unit Manager, as you become a vital member of the nurse management team.  Broader aspects of this role include working with senior managers of the wider organisation and assisting in deciding the strategic aims of 6SE.  In addition the Royal Melbourne Hospital is committed to assisting and developing new Associate Nurse Unit Managers is specific seminar days and emerging leader programs available

 

This ANUM role encompasses the portfolio of improving quality and safety and overseeing the National Standard of Communicating for Safety.  6 South East has a strong quality improvement focus and Accreditation occurring in September 2019, this ANUM portfolio is crucial in showcasing and refining the work we have done.  So leadership with the meeting of the National Standards and both organisational and ward-specific projects in improving safe patient care are essential components of this position. 

 

About You: 

  • Post-graduate qualification in cardiothoracic or critical care nursing
  • Recent clinical experience at an advanced level in the management of cardiothoracic patients
  • Experience in undertaking the nurse-in-charge role
