We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Pathology Collection Team. This is a Full Time, Fixed Term position, working 80 hours per fortnight.


Your Opportunity:


The position available is for a Pathology Collector to work in the busy and fast paced pathology collection service of Melbourne Health. This position is to provide blood collection services to the outpatient collection rooms and the wards of Melbourne Private Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital City and Royal Park Campuses which caters for an adult population. The position involves working weekdays, evenings, weekend shifts and being on call at weekends in turn.

  • Transport specimens within campus to appropriate courier, despatch or sample reception area, as required.
  • Manage risk and actively work toward implementing risk reduction strategies.
  • Demonstrate professional care with respect to patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • At all times adhere to Health and Safety protocols for the patients and you

About You:

  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • A proven ability to prioritise workloads
  • Experience in venepuncture and pathology collection
  • Minimum certificate 3 or 4 in blood collection
