The Connecting Care Program and Parkville Electronic Medical Record (EMR):

The Connecting Care EMR Program is a digital partnership between Melbourne Health (MH), The Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH), Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) and the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) to transform patient care and research in the Parkville precinct.


Connecting Care will expand the cutting-edge RCH Epic EMR to operate across the four health services, creating one powerful shared clinical and research system and setting a new benchmark for EMR technology in Australia.


The opportunity:

As the Connecting Care EMR Ambulatory Application Manager you will be responsible for the integrated design and optimal implementation of the EMR for the Connecting Care Program. You will lead the Connecting Care ambulatory application teams in the system design, build, testing and deployment.


You will ensure all project activities and deadlines are understood, planned, communicated and executed on time by the ambulatory application teams. You will manage application architectural and design issues across ambulatory application teams and ensure collaboration and joint standards are established for system design across all health services.


You will lead your teams in facilitating health service clinicians to make design and workflow decisions and deliver a solution that meet the needs of the end users, the required service levels and enables efficient operation and support.


You will work collaboratively with all application and project managers for RCH and Connecting Care Program, the EMR team, the EMR vendor and the health services across the Connecting Care Program.


The Connecting Care EMR Ambulatory Application Manager will manage and lead the following Connecting Care application teams:

  • EpicCare Ambulatory
  • Beacon (Oncology)
  • HIM and Identity
  • My Chart
  • Cadence and Referrals
  • Haiku/Canto
  • EpicCare Link
  • Providers and Security
  • Care Everywhere including My Health Record
