Your opportunity:


The Operating Theatres at Royal Melbourne Hospital are some of the busiest in the country. With 16 theatres including a Hybrid and a MRI theatre the Royal Melbourne Hospital Operating Suite treats approximately 25,000 thousand patients a year. With a large number of trauma, cardiac and neuro surgery cases it is a busy, demanding but rewarding environment.

 

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with extensive leadership experience who is able to ensure your team works in accordance with the Melbourne Way by putting people first, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together.

 

About You:

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and support a large team of highly skilled staff
  • Sound clinical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an established multidisciplinary health care team to achieve optimum patient outcomes and timely and effective patient flow
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and meet budgetary targets and identify opportunities for savings

To be successful for this position you will have:

  • Formal Qualifications – Registered Nurse, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Perioperative Nursing
  • Previous experience as Nurse Unit Manager desirable
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Health Management or working towards desirable
