Administration Assistant

  • Looking for Administration Assistant officer for the new Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) program 
  • Permanent Part Time position - 2.5 days per week (0.5EFT) 
  • Based in Pascoe Vale South

NorthWestern Mental Health is one of the largest providers of Mental Health Services in Victoria. Our multi-disciplinary workforce of skilled and dynamic clinicians and consumer/carer advisors, provide a recovery-oriented approach to care.

 

We are offering you an exciting opportunity to join a new initiative that is being established at NorthWest Area Mental Health Service called the HOPE program The Victorian Government is implementing HOPE programs across the state to provide brief enhanced support and assertive outreach for people leaving an emergency department following treatment for an attempted suicide. The NWAMHS HOPE program will provide a service to people who live in the Moreland and Hume LGAs who have presented to one of three emergency departments at The Northern Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Sunshine Hospital for up to a 12 week period. 

 

This is your opportunity to be a part of the development and establishment of a new team, to provide administrative support to a diverse range of staff and to make a difference in the lives of those who are presenting with high levels of distress, suicidal ideation/attempt and complex psycho-social issues.

 

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Maintain good interpersonal relationships with clinical staff, visitors other network staff and external partners
  • Collate and update area based resources and information
  • Compile reports
  • Order stationary and office related items to ensure maintenance of appropriate stock levels
  • Ensure IT systems are operational and meet requirements, and that any malfunctions are promptly addressed

Your Contribution

  • Proven ability to provide administration duties to a high standard
  • High level of conceptual and analytical ability in the resolution of issues and day-to-day problems
  • Experience within a Hospital and/or Medical setting and customer relations or reception experience
  • Demonstrated organisational and management skills
  • Well-developed communication and inter-personal skills
