Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2

  • Leadership role within the RMH MHS at Norfolk Terrace CCU
  • Travancore location - 20 bed facility for residential rehabilitation
  • Permanent Full Time and Part Time applicants will be considered

About You:

  • Work as an integral part of the clinical team delivering evidence based best practice and contemporary models of care 
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team in order to support the provision of complex clinical care for consumers experiencing psychiatric illness-specifically in the assessment and treatment of consumers with complex mental health needs
  • Promote a friendly, respectful and collaborative environment within the CCU, across the Area Mental Health Service and with all stakeholders

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Record Check and a Working with Children Check. 

All RMH employees are required to provide evidence of an immunisation assessment including evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses) and Influenza with a TGA approved vaccine (mandatory for all clinical and or patient facing roles) prior to commencement. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health’s Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.    

Selection Criteria Essential: Registration as a registered nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Essential: Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
Essential: Demonstrated experience in a mental health setting
Desirable: Experience in a CCU or mental health rehabilitation service highly valued.
Desirable: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and other relevant legislation, policies and strategic directions of Public Mental Health Services.
Essential: Victorian (or equivalent) driver’s licence.
Essential: Excellent organisation, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
