  • NorthWest Mental Health, Occupational Therapy and Social Work Entry Level Program  (OT&SW ELP)
  • Full Time Fixed Term - working 80 hours per fortnight, including monthly ADO!
  • For commencement August 2020.

  • These positions sit within the NWMH OT & SW ELP, which is the largest program of it’s type in Victoria.
  • The two year program offers new graduate and early career OT & SW clinicians the opportunity to develop skills in clinical mental health.
  • The program provides a range of supports and development activities including clinical exposure, discipline supervision, education, professional networking and a tailored focus in the final six months which assists individual clinicians to be ready to apply for grade two positions.
  • Each position has the clinical component and discipline specific supervision experience located within one of the six services/prorams that combine to make NorthWestern Mental Health.

A Job to Be Proud Of: 

  • The ELP offers a unique two year program of development encompassing education and clinical experience in the tertiary mental health field
  • Successful applicants will be allocated to a team in the service/program within which they have gained a position. 
  • After twelve months Grade 1 Clinicians may be moved to a different clinical setting within the same service/program to gain wider experience.

Clinicans will actively participate in:

  • Clinical work as allocated, including individual, family/carer and group work
  • Specific occupational therapy assessment and intervention in practice areas including sensory modulation, group work, vocation and driving
  • Managerial and discipline specific supervision
  • Team meetings including those with a managerial and/or clinical focus
  • All areas of the Entry Level Program education and development

Your Contribution:

  • An approved Degree from a recognised school of Occupational Therapy or other qualifications approved for eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapy (VIC). Applications will be accepted from final year students who expect to complete the qualification prior to the position commencing in 2020
  • Registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. (Registration pending for newly graduated therapists)
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and development and partnering with consumers in the provision of modern, evidence based mental health care
  • Less than 2 years professional experience post graduation as an Occupational Therapist
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
