Registered Nurse – Surgical Ward

  • Full Time 80 hours fortnight available for a minimum 2 years
  • The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Surgical Services
  • Opportunity to expand your surgical nursing knowledge and skills

Ward 9 West is a 24-bed surgical ward that provides care for elective and emergency Urology, Vascular, Breast Oncology and Endocrinology (BOE) patients. Our team is committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver safe, timely, effective and person centred care.

 

Your new role

  • Deliver high quality, patient centred care to pre and post-surgical patients
  • Develop specialised clinical knowledge and surgical nursing skills in a high acuity environment with education support.
  • Become competent in the following clinical areas; nephrostomy tube management, management of continuous bladder washouts, male catheterisation, stomal therapy, complex wound management and complex neurovascular assessment.
  • Become a valued member of 9 West Multidisciplinary Team.

About you

  • You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative working style
  • You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development
  • You are looking to expand your nursing Surgical Nursing knowledge and skills
  • Thrive in busy environments
  • You are an AHPRA registered Nurse with ward experience and are willing to work on a rotating roster, within our supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team.
