Consultant Neurologist - Fractional Positions


Fractional Consultant Neurologist positions are available commencing in January 2018 in subspecialties of Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders and Dementia.

 

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Neurology Unit

The RMH Neurology Unit is one of Australia’s busiest clinical units. It offers a full range of inpatient, ambulatory care and outpatient services and a busy clinical trials and research unit. In addition to the comprehensive stroke centre, there is dedicated video-EEG monitoring unit, specialist service for patients with multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory conditions, including a day procedure unit with infusion services, movement disorders including deep brain stimulation, neuromuscular conditions including neurophysiology, and neuro-ophthalmology. We serve as a tertiary referral service for most of the state

 

Position Summary for Neurology Consultant

As a member of the Department of Neurology, you will participate in inpatient and outpatient patient care, teaching and research at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.


As a Neurologist, you will undertake outpatient clinics and ward service duties including after-hours and on-call rostered duties (including weekends) as arranged by the Director.


You will be expected to attend clinical meetings, teach students/nurses/junior medical staff, and be involved in quality assurance activities.


The successful applicant needs to be motivated with leadership qualities that contribute to the ongoing growth and positive developments within the department.
