Family/Carer Peer Support Worker

Your new team:


At NAMHS you will find an enthusiastic, friendly, professional group of clinicians of various disciplines including lived experience worker. We work hard and we work well as a team. About your new role:

  • Assist carers to identify their support needs;
  • Relate with carers from the basis of lived expertise, sharing skills and learnings as appropriate, in a way that brings hope, supports and empowers them to move forward;
  • Provide Support and information provision in an accessible and timely manner about rights, responsibilities and recovery opportunities
  • Work within a team environment.

About You:

  • A lived/living experience of caring for someone with mental ill-health and treatment within a mental health service
  • Ability to draw on your own lived/living experience in working alongside carers;
  • Awareness of, and commitment to, your wellbeing and self-care as it relates to your work
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Empathetic and compassionate approach
