The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated lawyer to join Melbourne Health at its Royal Melbourne Hospital campus in Parkville.  The role is fulltime.

As Legal Counsel reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide legal advice and services to the organisation on a broad range of legal issues including commercial, health, medico-legal, privacy, Freedom of Information, legislation, intellectual property, employment and property law. You will be involved in a number of projects and assist our procurement team with tenders, probity and governance advice.  You will need to have an interest in and good knowledge of IT systems and contracting.

To succeed, you will possess superior organisation skills and be able to work autonomously to enable management of a broad and complex workload. You will also have strong leadership and inter-personal skills, and a pragmatic approach to managing issues and communicating with stakeholders effectively.
