Full time, fixed term position 22/08/2016 – 22/08/2017

About the Role:

An exciting new role and opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced community clinician to join the Adult Community Mental Health program at the Inner West Area Mental Health Service (IWAMHS) at Waratah Clinic.

This new pilot dual role comprises 0.5 EFT as a Mental Health Clinician embedded within a community tea, which provides a range of acute, brief and longer term interventions to assist people with psychiatric disorders. Consumers and their family/carers will have access to care in the community to meet their needs and preferences, provided by an integrated Community Team in the relevant catchment area. Underpinned by a recovery-oriented approach, the Community Team will be responsible for providing crisis responses, targeted intervention (brief & longer term), and consultative responses to primary health care providers. Clinicians will work in partnership with consumers, carers, PDRSS and other services to provide best practice for recovery, using a range of evidence-based approaches.

The other 0.5 EFT component of the position will have a role in implementing and evaluating a new program called ENGAGE that focusses on providing follow up and linkage for those consumers who present to the RMH Emergency Department, but who do not fit eligibility criteria for adult mental health services.

Enquires to Elle Perry (Community Team 3 Manager) on 9377 3400.
