Opportunities:
Opportunities available to work in a new state of the art 42 bed ICU facility within The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Applicants must hold Certificate III in Health Services Assistance. Fixed- term hours are available, commencing March 2018.

 

About Us:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital, which is part of Melbourne Health, is a world-class teaching hospital and one of Victoria’s largest Trauma Centres.

ICU currently consists of 42 beds and provides care to over 2500 patients each year, including Cardio-thoracic, Trauma, Neurosurgical, Oncology and Medical-surgical patients.  The unit also supports patients within the precinct  who may require Intensive Care Services including the Women’s and Peter McCullum Hospital as part of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Model of care.

 

To be successful:
The successful applicant will hold the qualification Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, is a self directed and team oriented professional, incorporating the Melbourne Health values and behaviours. 6 and 12 Months fixed term hours are available working a rotating day and night shift roster commencing March 2018, with the opportunity of permanent employment in the future.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience:
• Holds a qualification in Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
• Enthusiastic and organised approach to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to accept direction.
• Initiative in prioritising workload.
• Demonstrated provision of high quality patient centred care
• At least 3 years clinical assistant experience in an intensive care unit and/or technical experience (desirable)
