Clinical Team Leader 

  • Contribute to the development of a highly skilled nursing workforce
  • Provide expert advice and leadership for the care of young people from forensic services
  • Full Time Ongoing opportunity with ADOs - located in Footscray

Orygen Specialist Programs (OSP), a program of NorthWestern Mental Health, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 15 to 24 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness.

 

Within Acute services at OSP sits the inpatient unit that includes a 16-bed low dependency area and a further six beds for targeted specialised service delivery for youth with complex mental and psychosocial needs.

 

Your new role:

  • Role model high standards of consumer care, considering the holistic needs of each individual
  • Work with the wider team to reduce restrictive interventions
  • Ensuring discharges are streamlined and are facilitated in a safe manner
  • Review incidents that occur on the ward to identify causal factors to develop recommendations to eliminate, mitigate or substitute potential risk issues 
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership of the service to ensure evidence based best practice and contemporary models of care

About you:

  • Prior experience coordinating or supporting bed flow in an acute inpatient setting Practice in a gender sensitive, trauma informed and culturally sensitive and safe manner
  • Ability to prioritise workload and respond to the needs of the unit and team including assisting in managing emergency codes across the unit
  • Significant experience in the areas of Solution Focussed Therapy, Sensory Modulation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or subject areas relevant to inpatient setting
