We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Health Information Services team. This is a Full time position, working 80 hours per fortnight, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.


Key aspects of this role include:

  • Coding and grouping using 3M Web Codefinder
  • Coding auditing
  • Unit audits and coding/casemix analysis

Our team pride themselves in high quality coding. New staff members are supported by the Coding Manager and the four Full Time Coding Educators.  Melbourne Health has implemented an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) scanned medical record thus opening up the potential for more flexible work arrangements in the near future.


About You (Essential Requirements):

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar coding position
  • A comprehensive knowledge of current Australian Coding Standards
  • A thorough understanding of Victorian specific coding advice and activity based funding policies
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and also individually
