Eating Disorders Coordinator

NorthWestern Mental Health is zone of the largest providers of Mental Health Services in Victoria. Our multi-disciplinary workforce of skilled and dynamic clinicians, consumers and carers, provide a recovery- oriented approach to care.

 

We are dedicated to providing a caring and high quality range of specialist, community and hospital-based mental health services for youth, adult and aged people who are experiencing, or are at risk of developing a serious mental illness.

 

The position requires approved training, experience and expertise in nutrition and dietetics with a commitment to high standards of patient care. The position also requires a demonstrated capacity to work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team.

 

This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupation Therapists, and Social Workers.

 

Your new role:

  • Focus on the provision of individual nutrition support for consumers with severe mental illness who are at risk of or experiencing metabolic syndrome and severe eating disorders
  • Provide education and practical meal support to consumers, and may require experience in the provision of group work and education provision
  • Lead and contribute to innovation in quality improvement, service evaluation and research
  • Engage with people experiencing severe mental health issues and an understanding of risk issues in mental health

About You:

  • Comprehensive clinical experience post graduating and demonstrated experience in a range of clinical areas
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of consumers with severe mental illness including eating disorders
  • Demonstrated experience supervising students and junior clinicians
  • Experience in individual and group counselling and ability to demonstrate effective presentation skills for the purpose of education for staff, students and consumers
