The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We build teams that embrace our values – caring, excellence, integrity, respect, and unity.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Aged Care team. This is a Part Time Fixed Term position, working 64 hours per fortnight, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Park Campus.

About the role

AC1 is a busy 20 bed ward, caring for GEM patients retrieved from the Acute wards of The Royal Melbourne Hospital. These patients require extra therapy or discharge planning to achieve their most optimal discharge destination. Common conditions are orthopaedic, neurological and general medical issues.  The diversity of these patients makes AC1 a challenging and highly rewarding ward for nurses to exercise their skills.

Following a Patient Centred "Model of Care" to facilitate best practice, AC1 strives to achieve patient focused outcomes for both our patients, and their families. Our nursing staff work closely with our dedicated Allied Health team to achieve best outcomes for all patients.

The successful applicant will be a dynamic and self motivated Registered Nurse, with a strong commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care.

Applicants must be able to work a rotating roster, including weekends and rotations onto night shift.

This challenging and rewarding opportunity offers the right candidate a chance to make significant contributions to the ongoing success of the AC1 team and help us achieve our vision to be the First in Care, Research and Learning.
