Clinical Nurse Consultant - Infection Prevention and Surveillance Service (IPSS)

The Infection Prevention and Surveillance Service (IPSS) is a multidisciplinary team incorporating nursing, medical, data and epidemiology staff providing expert advice to The Royal Melbourne Hospital. IPSS promotes, supports and reinforces practices and procedures that protect patients, staff and visitors in the healthcare environment.

Your new role:

  • Provide expert advice regarding infection prevention and control within the health service based on evidence based practice, legislation, standards and guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote patient centred care.
  • Contribute to a value system that holds staff, patients and visitors accountable for infection prevention and control practices.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of infection prevention policy and procedure through the application of risk management, patient safety and quality improvement tools.

About You

  • You have undertaken a relevant postgraduate degree.
  • You have the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You have demonstrable communication and presentation skills as well as project experience.
