The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Clinical Engineering team. This is a Full Time position, working 76 hours per fortnight.

Your Opportunity:

This position has high level autonomy; responsibility and accountability include:

  • Ensuring medical equipment is appropriately maintained and safe for clinical operation
  • Effective and sustainable financial management and performance
  • Provision of technical advice in all areas of Clinical Engineering
  • Liaise with senior staff on the trial, purchase, operation and reliability of all electro medical devices
  • Training and competency of all Clinical Engineering staff and ensuring they are kept abreast of new technology and equipment introduced to Melbourne Health
  • Development of technical specifications
  • Project management including medical device change over and associated asset management
  • Data management, integrity and analytics

About You:

  • Degree in electronics, medical electronics certificate or equivalent to be eligible for membership to the Society of Medical and Biomedical Engineers (SMBE)
  • Experience in asset management in a health care environment including lifecycle Asset Management
  • Minimum 9+ years’ experience with Medical Devices used in Patient Care environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Equipment & Australian Standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of computer literacy in word, excel and outlook
  • Demonstrated database experience including analysis and research
  • Experience in managing large projects with multiple stakeholder
  • Experience working in/with tertiary health service
