Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2

  • Work with the team at North West Community Mental Health
  • Provide assessment and treatment of consumers with complex mental health related needs within the medication clinic
  • Ongoing Part Time position with negotiable flexible hours  - 48 hours per fortnight

Your new team

  • The North West Community Mental Health Team Coburg is an integral program of North West Area Mental Health service.
  • We provide services for people, who are experiencing mental illness who require short, medium or longer term support and care
  • Consumers reside in the City of Moreland and Hume

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Predominately work within the Long Acting Injectible Medication clinic providing medication and physical health service to consumers
  • Focus on medication support to consumers and their families/carers 
  • Provide follow up appointments, prescriptions and clinical handover to treating team when required
  • Support clinicians with medication administration for their consumers
  • Home visits to consumers’ home for the purpose of supervising medication and assessing mental state

Your Contribution

  • Highly motivated
  • Sound clinical skills with an understanding of the recovery framework
  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act its amendments and other relevant legislation
  • Demonstrated capacity for initiative and an ability to work appropriately with limited direction
  • Relevant clinical qualification, knowledge and demonstrated skills in the principles and practice of working with people with severe psychiatric disorder
  • Skills in liaison, collaboration and negotiation with other service providers, consumers and carer groups and other community agencies
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
