The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Cardiac Surgery team. This is a Full Time position, working 80 hours per fortnight, based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus. 

 

Your Opportunity:

            

This is an exciting opportunity for a rewarding full time position in a friendly hardworking team.  The Cardiac Surgery Unit includes complex aortic surgery, complex congenital surgery, Ross procedures in addition to CABGS and an extensive valve program.  The Unit also runs an ECMO Service with current training of ICU nursing staff in ECMO underway.

  • Responsible for the selection, preparation and integrity of equipment, consumables, drugs and agents required for the conduct of perfusion and related techniques essential to the proper perfusion standards for safety for safety and care of the patient undergoing cardiopulmonary support.
  • Ensure adequacy of perfusion physiologically, biochemically and hemodynamically.
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of cardioplegia solutions, and for the implementation of myocardial preservation regimens

About You: 

  • Certification of Perfusion
  • Degree in Science or equivalent qualifications
  • Australian Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Certificate of eligible for ABCP certification
  • Excellent communication skills
