Allocations Officer

  • Permanent part time position - 72 hours per fortnight
  • Be willing to work a rotating roster including weekends

The Nursing and Workforce Unit at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, is seeking a highly motivated Allocation Officer for a permanent part-time position. Our Allocation Officers work closely with the management team and the Digital Coordination Centre in ensuring that nursing vacancies are filled across the organisation with the appropriately skilled staff.

 

Your new role:

  • Supports the nursing workforce unit in ensuring vacancies are filled with appropriately skilled staff to provide our patients with the best care
  • Requires liaising and connecting with key stakeholders such as the digital command centre team, nurse leaders, external agencies and our casual Bank members
  • Provides a central point of coordination for nursing workforce vacancies and casual workforce enquiries
  • Offers a seven-day week rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays with a combination of the following shift times; 515-1345, 0930-1830, 0730-1600 and 1330-2200

  • You have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A collaborative working style with a postive, flexible "can do' approach
  • You are willing to work a rotating roster within our supportive multi-disciplinary team
  • You have demonstrated computer literacy with fast and accurate data entry skills

Selection Criteria Desirable: Experience working in a health care setting
Desirable: Experience in the allocation/rostering of staff
Desirable: Knowledge of the casual and permanent nursing industry and conditions
Essential: Excellent interpersonal skills including customer service
Essential: Demonstrated computer literacy skills (Word, Excel)
