Medical Laboratory Technician – Quality and Clinical Trials
This Position is full-time until 5th November 2016 then temporary part-time for 12 months.
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with an Associate Diploma in Science or in Applied Science (Medical Laboratory), or equivalent qualification, to join our team within the pathology service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
About the position:
This is a 12 month position. The position is full-time until 5th November 2016 and then part-time (64 hours/fortnight). The successful applicant will provide support to the Manager – Quality, Revenue and Information systems and the Pathology Clinical Trials Coordinator. The main duties of this role are to help facilitate the implementation and maintenance of accreditation requirements, process, prepare and manage research specimens and assist in the set-up of clinical trials and research projects.
Previous experience in a pathology service is essential, in particular specimen reception and/or anatomical pathology experience. An understanding of quality systems and Pathology Accreditation would be highly regarded.

To be successful in this role you will have high level computer skills, ability to prioritise workloads and able to adapt to multiple and varied tasks whilst meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment are also required.
The successful applicant will be required to provide a record of Immune Status to vaccine preventable diseases or evidence of an immunisation assessment prior to commencement.
