2020 Hospital Medical Officers PGY 3 + (non PMCV Match position)

 

As Victoria’s first public hospital, the RMH has touched the lives of millions of Victorians, providing care and treatment for the sickest in our community through outstanding clinical care, medical research and the training of future healthcare professionals. RMH provides specialist and general acute and subacute health services across two campuses. Primarily serving the north western communities of Melbourne, the RMH also provides statewide and specialist services to rural and regional Victorians.
RMH is part of Melbourne Health, which includes Northwestern Mental Health and the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory.


Research & Education
RMH is a partner in Melbourne’s internationally renowned Parkville Precinct, the hub of medical and biotechnology research, education and development, and medical services delivery in Victoria. RMHl has strong links with research facilities including the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research and the National Ageing Research Institute, and is a partner in Australia’s largest brain research collaboration, the Melbourne Brain Centre. RMH has a close affiliation with The University of Melbourne and works closely with other universities for undergraduate and postgraduate education of medical, nursing and allied health professionals.

 

The PGY 3 + HMO positions are open to internal and external applicants.

  • Complete selection criteria questions
  • Must have current medical registration with AHPRA

 

If you have already applied for the Unaccredited General Surgery Registrar positions, you do not need to reapply to this position.

 

BPT1 and all PGY2 positions will be advertised in June and appointed via the PMCV match.

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Record Check and a Working With Children Check. 

Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of an immunisation assessment prior to commencement.

Desirable: Briefly describe why you are applying for this stream
Desirable: What are your two most desired rotations and why?
Desirable: What PGY level will you be in 2020?
Desirable: (Internal MH applicants only): Are you up to date with all of your mandatory training?
Desirable: Have you passed all of your units/rotations?
Desirable: Have any conditions or restrictions been imposed on your professional registration?
Desirable: Are there any matters regarding your conduct or professional practice that have been referred to the Board that governs your profession; training college; VCAT; or any other Victorian tribunal whether they be in progress or completed?
Desirable: (External applicants only): How would a position at RMH help you in your career?
Desirable: Are you seeking a 12 month position commencing February; a 9 month position commencing in May; or a 6 month position commencing in August?
