Infectious Disease Modeller

We are looking for a passionate and dedicate individual to join our dynamic team in the WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis. This is a Part Time, Fixed Term position, working 38 hours per fortnight, based at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDERL) at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity.

 

Your Opportunity

  • Undertake surveillance and predictive mathematical modelling for viral hepatitis to forecast the burden of disease and measure progress against national strategies for the elimination of hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team of public health professionals, epidemiologists and clinicians, based at a world-leading research institute.

About You

  • Postgraduate qualification that provides expertise in mathematical modelling of infectious diseases.
  • Experience leading the design and development of infectious disease transmission and surveillance models.
  • Experience in identifying and sourcing relevant data sets to support modelling activities.
  • Proficiency in relevant modelling and statistical software and the management of large datasets
  • Ability to establish collaborative and advisory relationships with experts to support complex modelling activities.
