We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our homeless team as a Mental Health Clinician.  This initiative will work collaboratively with homelessness organisations to support vulnerable individuals residing in temporary hotel accommodation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  This position is full time 1.0 EFT, fixed term.

A Job to Be Proud Of:

  • Manage a small caseload of consumers.
  • Provide leadership to the team whilst representing your discipline as a senior clinician and lead relevant portfolios.
  • Operate between the Waratah office (Moonee Ponds) and RMH.
  • Participate in clinical service development activities within the team and encourage and support quality initiatives and research.
  • Provide supervision to staff as well as students within the relevant discipline.
  • Supported by a supervisor, manager and team leader.
  • Be part of a committed, enthusiastic and professional team that strives for the best outcomes for its consumers.
  • Involved in a service located in the heart of Melbourne.

Your Contribution:

  • Formal qualifications and registration.
  • You must have at least 3 years’ experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability.
  • You have a strong understanding of the legal and ethical principles of the Mental Health Act.
  • You are able to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and enjoy working autonomously.
  • You are confident in the provision of support and treatment for people experiencing drug and alcohol related issues and their families.
  • Excellent organisation, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software use and information technology on the Microsoft Windows platform and ability to learn new programs and navigate databases.
