Life with Us:
ORYGEN Youth Health consists of a specialist mental health service for young people, integrated with an extensive research program, and with a focus on the translation of sound evidence into practice at local, state, national and international level. EPPIC (Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention centre) is a major clinical stream within the Continuing Care Teams.
Clients attending the PACE Clinical Stream are young people (15 -25 years) who are at risk of developing a psychotic illness or are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

- Join specialist multidisciplinary team, carry a caseload of clients.
- Participate in clinical review meetings and practice according to the philosophy protocols of the service.
- Devise, implement, evaluate appropriate treatment plans for young persons and their families.
- Provide highly skilled clinical assessments and psychological treatments, assertive outreach and case management tasks, such as liaison with other agencies and advocacy on behalf of the young person.
The service developments aim to increase local service delivery with stronger partnerships with local care providers, including headspace, located at a Youth Hub in Sunshine with satellite clinics in Wyndham and Melton.
In the new model of care, clinicians will have greater capacity to provide specialised evidence-based interventions for young people and their families by having smaller caseloads and access to enhanced professional development.
Innovative and collaborative models of care will be developed with the primary care sector, including opportunities for the incumbent to pursue private practice within the headspace environment.
Your Contribution:
- You are an: OT, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist Grade 2 or RPN Grade 3
- Hold a minimum 2 years’ experience in clinical practice within the mental health field, including young people experiencing mental health disorders
- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate client-centred individual service plans, risk assessments and diagnostic formulations
- Capacity to provide, or develop skills in, integrated assessment, treatment and care for dual diagnosis clients
- Knowledge of the rationale and evidence for early intervention in mental illness
