The Royal Melbourne Hospital | Clinical Support Nurse - Grade 4A  |Division of Surgery, Perioperative, Trauma and Surgical Oncology Services | Full time, Ongoing | Commencing March 2016


An opportunity exists for an experienced Registered Nurse with general surgical nursing experience to undertake this role in a full time, ongoing capacity within the Royal Melbourne Hospital Nursing Education Department

 

The Clinical Support Nurse (CSN) role is pivotal to the support of nursing staff within the Division of Surgery, Perioperative, Trauma and Surgical Oncology Service. This role will be primarily responsible for anticipating and responding to the developmental needs of new nursing staff, in particular the Graduate Nurse Program (GNP) participants. The role is clinically based across 3 surgical wards currently located on 9 West (Urology, Vascular, Breast Oncology, Endocrinology, and Ophthalmology), 3 South (Emergency General Surgery), and 3 South West (Hepatobiliary, Colorectal, and Gastroenterology). In addition, this role will require the successful applicant to work closely with the existing Clinical Nurse Educators to facilitate and deliver a variety of education programs to all staff members.

 

This role will be attractive to the nurse wishing to gain experience in clinical education while working collaboratively with the general surgery Clinical Nurse Educators, Nurse Unit Managers and clinical staff.

 

Post graduate qualifications in nursing and/or clinical education are required for this role.
