An opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Physiotherapist to work across campuses in a fixed term role (until December 31 2018) comprising 0.4 ADO relief at City Campus in the cardiorespiratory and general medicine teams plus 0.6EFT for a new Rehab in the Home program (RiTH) based at Royal Park Campus.

 

A new RiTH model of care will be trialled combining telehealth and a home based Rehab program. Patients will have early supported discharge from the inpatient rehabilitation unit from Royal Park Campus and be part of the rehab in the home program. The team will consist of a medical doctor, nursing, physiotherapy and occupational therapy and the successful applicant will work with the multidisciplinary team to establish patient centred goals and interventions for patients in the RITH program. The RiTH physiotherapist is required to undertake assessment, management and referral plans for patients within the program, via telehealth methods and home based visits.

 

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Cardio Respiratory Physiotherapy service provides care across a variety of clinical areas including the new Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care, Trauma, Specialist and General Surgery, Respiratory Medicine and General Medicine. The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of clinical service, supervision and education of junior physiotherapists and will be a member of our supportive team.
