The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

 

We are looking experienced and motivated Physiologist (Echocardiography) to join our dynamic Echo team. Part Time Fixed Term, working 32 hours per fortnight until September 2019.

 

Your Opportunity:

 


The Cardiology Department provides care to emergency and elective patients with heart disease including ischaemic heart disease, heart failure and valvular heart disease. Major areas of activity include the treatment of patients with adult congenital cardiac disease and cardiac surgery.  It is a world-renowned centre in treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and has a growing Cardiac Genetics Service. The Echocardiography Department is involved actively in education and research with regular teaching sessions.  It also has a special interest and expertise in Adult Congenital Heart Disease and can train technologists in this subspecialty area.  

 

An exciting opportunity is available for a Grade 2 or Grade 3 Cardiac Technologist to join our busy and well-supported team of professionals at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, City Campus.  You will be working in a large tertiary Cardiology Department, with opportunities for involvement in teaching and research. 

 

About You:

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science in a relevant field
  • Previous clinical experience as a Cardiac Technologist
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload, and effectively prioritise tasks 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and modelling of interdisciplinary practice 
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal (including conflict resolution and negotiation) 
  • Previous training/experience in echocardiography is preferred
