  • Engage with consumers to provide individualised therapeutic interventions and information, to support consumer’s awareness of options about care and recovery
  • Provide assessment and planning to meet the needs of consumers and their family/carers
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to share of knowledge of individual’s needs and challenges, to support a team approach to care and planning
  • Promote and contribute to the activity and participation program by co-facilitating activities with consumers which support their recovery

Your Contribution:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or a Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent plus an approved postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Proven clinical ability with knowledge of professional supervision and practice based research
  • Demonstrated capacity and initiative to work with limited direction
  • Ability to problem solve, negotiate and communicate with staff and other service providers
  • Ability to provide high quality education in Psychiatric Nursing to student nurses

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you hold a Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or a Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent plus an approved postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing?
Essential: Are you registered as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and are you able to provide a certified copy of your current Nurses Registration?
Essential: Are you currently eligible to work in Australia? Eg Australian Birth Certificate or passport with working visa, permanent residency?
Essential: Do you agree to undertake a Criminal History Record Check and a Working With Children Check?
Essential: If successful, do you agree to provide evidence of an immunisation assessment prior to commencement?
