We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our  Outpatients Team. This is a Part Fixed Term position, working 32 hours per fortnight.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Outpatients Department is a major tertiary referral centre providing a range of specialist consultations for patients referred to us via their GP, Emergency Department or on leaving RMH as an inpatient. The Outpatient Department sees over 173,000 patients in a year.

Your Opportunity:

The Registered Nurse duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Working within a team to manage the flow of patients through clinic
  • Monitor the waiting room to identify and treat unwell patients
  • Assisting with minor procedures, dressings, pathology specimen collection
  • Liaising with medical teams and reporting on the status of their  clinic
  • Supervising bookings into clinic and cancellations
  • Pre-screening diagnostic checks, follow up phone calls for patients
  • Maintaining safe standards of equipment and consumable supplies within budget

About You: 

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing And Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
  • Demonstrated provision of high quality patient care
  • Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
  • High motivation and willingness to learn
  • High level of reliability and professional conduct
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
