SWITCH Research Nurse/Coordinator 

 

  • Part Time Fixed Term - 32 hours per fortnight
  • We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our SWITCH team
  • Be part of the Neurology Department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital

 

This position will support the Clinical Research Development Team in the daily workings of the Royal Melbourne Hospital SWITCH trial (Stentrode With Thought Controlled Digital Switch: An Early Feasibility Study (EFS) of the safety of the Stentrode device in participants with loss of motor function due to paralysis from spinal cord injury, motor neuron disease, stroke, muscular dystrophy or loss of limb).

 

Your new role:

  • Co-ordinate required procedures and investigations required and perform any delegated responsibilities under the supervision of the Principal Investigator/Investigators
  • Assist with screening, recruiting, conducting nursing assessments and follow up of study participants 
  • Collect 12 lead ECG and pathology samples from participants as required and ensure prompt analysis by allocated pathology services

 

About You:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing And Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Experience in coordinating clinical research and trials within Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Experience or qualifications in Neuroscience, ICU or Emergency Nursing.
