We are seeking a motivated, professional and natural clinical leader to join our Aged Care 4 team. This is an excellent opportunity to be an integral part of a high performing team, in a rewarding environment.
About the Role:
Aged Care 4 is a 25 bed ward and serves as one of four Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) wards at Royal Park Campus. AC4 provides specialist care to both general GEM patients as well as Dementia specific GEM patients within a secure, safe environment.
The ward boasts a dynamic multi-disciplinary team comprised of medical, nursing, occupational therapists, social workers, dieticians and physiotherapists as well as access to a regular education in-service program in conjunction with our supportive Clinical Nurse Educator.
The successful applicant would be required to work a rotating roster (including night duty) across a 14 day fortnight and will possess exceptional communication skills, be able to multi-task and problem solve effectively.
About You (Essential Requirements):
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing And Midwifery Board of Australia
- Right to work in Australia
- Minimum of 4 year’s experience in acute or subacute hospital environments
- Commitment to Aged Care Nursing including patients with challenging behaviours in the setting of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease
- Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
- Demonstrated ability to both lead and manage a team with sound conflict resolution skills
- Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in management and/or clinical area of expertise or working towards
