The Royal Melbourne Hospital has opportunities across 7 South East (SE) and 7 South West (SW) for registered and enrolled nurses.  We are the wards that care for some of the most complex trauma cases in the state once they have been stabilised by our colleagues in ED and ICU. We are seeking team orientated nurses with surgical experience to be part of our wards, with a desire to provide clinical excellence and great patient care.

About us:

  • We care for complex plastic surgery patients – both elective reconstructive surgery and trauma cases as well as head and neck oncology and complex trauma
  • RMH 7SW is a 30-bed ward specialising in orthopaedics and trauma.
  • We are a state referral centre for trauma.
  • The 2 wards are co located and share clinical nurse educators across the floor with coverage 5 days a week from the service.

About you:

  • Compassionate, caring and patient focused.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to problem solve in a complex and ever-changing environment.
  • Keen to support novice learners (students) and provide them with a great experience on placement.
  • Hold current registration with AHPRA.

Our Commitment to you:

  • Career progression opportunities to suit your professional development goals.
  • Career development opportunities are available; leadership, clinical nurse consultant and education are some of the fields that our nurses progress into while working at RMH on 7SE & 7SW.
  • We have a commitment to training, education and CPD activities.
  • Development of your potential is our number one goal.  Learn skills that will make you a highly skilled nurse.

The RMH is proud to be a workplace that champions diversity, inclusion and equality for our staff and our community.  Our goal is for our people to feel safe, included and supported so that they can be at their best every single day. We encourage talented people from all backgrounds, abilities and identities to apply to our vacancies, and will consider adjustments to support such applications.
