The Connecting Care Program and Parkville Electronic Medical Record (EMR) 

The Connecting Care EMR Program is a digital partnership between Melbourne Health (MH), The Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH), Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) and the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) to transform patient care and research in the Parkville precinct.

 

Connecting Care will expand the cutting-edge RCH Epic EMR to operate across the four health services, creating one powerful shared clinical and research system and setting a new benchmark for EMR technology in Australia.

 

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Connecting Care team. This is a Full Time Fixed Term position, working 80hours per fortnight, based at Parkville.

 

Your Opportunity:

 

As the Connecting Care EMR Analyst for Clinical Information you will be responsible for the design, build, configuration, testing and implementation of EMR functions and deliverables that are related to the release and governance of clinical information stored within the EMR at RCH, Melbourne Health, the Royal Women’s and Peter Mac. 

You will work collaboratively with the RCH and Parkville EMR team, the EMR vendor and the health services to review patient movement, release of information and clinical information governance workflows and related  content and configuration.  You will be required to work with clinical and operational managers and departments from all Parkville sites to:

  • understand the clinical and administrative workflows associated with how a patient transitions across and within health services
  • develop future state workflows to ensure that the data captured within the Patient Administration System (PAS) associated with a patients clinical journey is appropriately integrated with Epic
  • design, configure, test and implement future state workflows to store and release clinical information that is documented within Epic
  • co-ordinate the design, development, configuration, testing and implementation of tools within Epic to maintain patient confidentiality within Epic

About You:

 

This position would suit a candidate with:

  • A tertiary degree in either a clinical discipline, eHealth, IT or health information management or the equivalent;
  • Experience working as a business analyst in a healthcare company or hospital;
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting;
  • Experience using or implementing an EMR, PAS or eHealth system;
