Manager, Greater Western Consortium for Physician Training

Based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital

Part time - 3 days per week

 

The Greater Western Consortium Manager will be responsible for facilitating the Consortium model across all member hospitals. The Manager will be based mainly at the City Campus of Melbourne Health and will visit other sites as needed, including Western Health.

 

Reporting to the Consortium Director of Physician Training and the Executive Director of Clinical Governance and Medical Services (Melbourne Health), the Manager will be responsible for the day to day co-ordintion of activities related to effective and efficient functioning of the Consortium including co-ordination of tainee rotations, development of teaching programs, and examination preparation.

Key accountabilities:

  • Participation in the Consortium Management Committee
  • Management of Consortium Funds
  • Monitoring of the Consortium Basic Physician Training Program
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the consortium model
  • Reporting requirements

Key selection criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
  •  Experience in a public hospital environment, preferably in administrative and training positions
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Experience of working in a learning environment
  • Financial management skills
