The RMH CNIO is responsible for providing clinical leadership and facilitating engagement of nursing and clinical staff at RMH in EMR workflows and other Digital Health programs, focusing on delivering safe, timely, effective person centred care.


The RMH CNIO will leverage the EMR to optimise quality of care, enhance patient safety, drive service improvements, enhance education and improve patient outcomes.


This role will report to and work under the guidance of the RMH Director of EMR and RMH Executive Director of Nursing, Allied Health and Residential Aged Care to ensure delivery of the strategic and operational requirements of the EMR. The role will ensure the EMR supports RMH's priorities and strategic plan and assists the organisation to transform health care.


The RMH CNIO will foster collaborative working relationships with staff from across RMH including the CXIOs, Nursing Leadership Team, clinical staff and other key stakeholders including precinct partners.


About You:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior nursing role
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Understanding of EMR functionality to support nursing workflows
  • Significant experience of health care systems and processes
  • Understanding of the broader e-health landscape,including national e-health activity including the My Health Record and clinical systems used within health care organisations
  • Proven ability to meet strategic and operational objectives
  • Proven ability to initiate large, complex enterprise-wide projects.
  • Strategic thinker, organisational and planning ability, analysis and judgement.
  • A positive and effective track record of innovation, continuous improvement and change management
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with employees from all levels of an organisation
  • Demonstrated and highly developed communication skills, particularly in reporting, public presentation and consultation, and the ability to negotiate and communicate with relevant internal and external stakeholders
