 This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder looking to further their career.

Reporting to the Coding and Casemix Manager at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, you will be part of a team of 5 Coding Auditor/Educators responsible for coding training in Melbourne Health inpatient casemix, casemix auditing, coding and provision of coding and casemix education to the wider Melbourne Health workforce.


The successful applicant will have had at least 3 years experience in tertiary hospital coding and casemix. Outstanding classification and casemix funding knowledge, and the ability to communicate this knowledge to others, both verbally and in written form is required. Well developed computing skills, previous staff management experience, leadership qualities & project experience will be well regarded.

Essential:

  • Eligible for full membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia
  • Bachelor of Health Information Management, or equivalent
  • Sound understanding of ICD-10-AM, ACHI and AR-DRG classifications and casemix funding applicable to Victorian Public Hospitals

Desirable:

  • Previous experience with 3M Codefinder
