Senior Clinical Psychologist - Grade 4

  • Part-Time, Permanent - 32 hours per fortnight

We provide expert multidisciplinary care to consumers from Western Metropolitan Melbourne and the Western part of Victoria. The Eating Disorders unit has 8 in-patient beds in addition to outpatient clinics and a Day Patient Program. Join our caring, cohesive and dynamic multi-disciplinary team which values the specific contributions of clinical psychologists to the treatment of our consumers with challenging and complex mental health presentations as well as to the leadership of our team. 


A Job To Be Proud Of:

  • Provide a high level of clinical expertise to the program via clinical meetings or one to one as required
  • Coordinate psychology activity on the unit, including the provision and coordination of clinical supervision to subordinates and to students
  • Actively develop, facilitate and lead in the area of research related to the service
  • Oversee clinical activity on the unit and providing clinical leadership from a psychology perspective
  • Provide support and direction to unit staff as well as engaging with other hospital staff and departments (clinical and non-clinical). Provide psychology consultation as required
  • Assist as required with the referral, admission and discharge processes for the unit.
  • Take a lead role in the development and delivery of high level clinical standards

Your Contribution:

  • A minimum 10 years post-graduate experience and a high level of expertise in the delivery of mental health services to people with severe psychiatric illness and challenging behaviours, including psychological assessment and specialist therapeutic interventions
  • Extensive experience in the application of psychological and behavioural interventions for clients with complex disorders including eating disorders
  • Ability to apply consultancy skills within the program, to other mental health facilities and to community agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead service development and/or research projects.
  • Experience in the provision of education and training
