RMH is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced enthusiastic supervisor within our Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). Our CSSD processes for a busy 24/7 trauma hospital with 15 operating theatres, other departments and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre processing requirements.


Your Opportunity:

Supervise and coordinate the processing of RMD instruments and equipment through the process of collection, cleaning and decontamination of reusable critical and semi-critical medical equipment used by the operating suite and clinical units on a daily basis. This includes coordinating staff for the following loading and unloading ultrasonic, instrument washers, dryers and sterilisers according to instructions and general duties lists.  Preparation, checking and packaging of instruments including loan sets to be sterilised. 

About You:

  • Certificate III and Certificate IV in Sterilisation
  • A minimum of 5 year’s experience in sterilising services
  • Experience in charge and with supervision and teaching for junior instrument technicians
  • Previous experience in supervising in a busy CSSD
  • Strong organisational skills, strong problem solving skills, with the ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Outstanding communication and writing skills
  • Enthusiastic about working in our CSSD with knowledge of best practice in sterilisation techniques and service
