The Royal Melbourne Operating Suite is seeking an experienced and motivated Grade 2 Nurses interested in joining our professional and dynamic Perioperative and Peri-anaesthetics Nursing team.

PACU nurses at The Royal Melbourne Hospital support a busy 14 theatre operating suite, recovering patients and providing anaesthetic assistance across our range of specialties.

Your Opportunity:

• Provision of anaesthetics assistance to patients undergoing all types of major surgery
• Provision of post-operative recovery support of patients

This is a varied role that requires a switched-on nurse who enjoys the challenges associated with working in a major metropolitan operating suite and is willing to work hard to provide excellent nursing care.

About You: 

• Registered Nurse with current Australian practicing certificate
• 4 years’ experience in Peri-anaesthetic and/or Recovery NursingPost Graduate qualifications in Peri-anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing is highly desirableDemonstrated high clinical standards in patient assessment
• Ability to respond appropriately to emergency and trauma caseload including cardiopulmonary arrest situations
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• Good technical proficiency and familiarity with a range of hemodynamic monitoring platforms
• Willingness to actively and positively contribute to a high functioning multidisciplinary Perioperative nursing team
