We provide comprehensive acute, sub-acute, general, specialist medical and mental health services through both inpatient and community based facilities through the following services: The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus, The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Royal Park Campus, NorthWestern Mental Health, RMH Kidney Care Service and Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory. NorthWestern Mental Health (NWMH) provides a comprehensive, integrated range of services to people with a serious mental illness in North-Western Melbourne. A multi-disciplinary workforce of 1,800 staff provides services through four Area Adult Mental Health Services (North West, Mid West, Inner West and Northern), an Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program and a Youth Mental Health Service – ORYGEN Youth Health. NWMH is a clinical service of Melbourne Health and operates in partnership with Northern Health and Western Health. Joining Orygen Youth Health: Orygen Youth Health consists of a specialist mental health service for young people, integrated with an extensive research program, and with a focus on the translation of sound evidence into practice at local, state, national and international level. EPPIC (Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention centre) is a major clinical stream within the Continuing Care Teams. Clients attending the PACE Clinical Stream are young people (15 -25 years) who are at risk of developing a psychotic illness or are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The clinical case manager works within a specialist multidisciplinary team environment and is responsible for devising, implementing and evaluating an appropriate treatment plan for each young person on his/her caseload and their family. This involves provision of highly skilled clinical assessments and psychological treatments, assertive outreach and case management tasks, such as liaison with other agencies and advocacy on behalf of the young person. The incumbent is expected to function autonomously, carry a caseload of clients, participate in clinical review meetings and practice according to the philosophy and protocols of the service. The service developments aim to increase local service delivery with stronger partnerships with local care providers, including headspace. In the new model of care, clinicians will have greater capacity to provide specialised evidence-based interventions for young people and there families by having smaller caseloads and access to enhanced professional development. Innovative and collaborative models of care will be developed with the primary care sector. Why Melbourne Health? Melbourne Health is a values based organisation.
