About Inner West Area Mental Health Services (IWAMHS)

IWAMHS has a unique opportunity for a registered psychiatric nurse with advanced skills in mental health and an interest in supporting consumers prescribed clozapine. We are seeking dynamic, team oriented clinicians with an interest in supporting consumers with complex needs, service development and improving physical health outcomes for mental health consumers. IWAMHS has a strong team culture and values the development of its workforce. Based in Moonee Ponds, this role is an opportunity to take on a leadership role, supporting other clinicians and contributing to the growth of mental health services in our community.

 

Your new role:

  • Ensure effective and safe service provision for consumers prescribed clozapine in line with clozapine protocols.
  • Support treating teams, GP’s and other stakeholders to work effectively with consumers prescribed clozapine.
  • Be a leader in a team that works to improve physical health outcomes for consumers prescribed clozapine.
  • Develop thoughtful, evidence based recovery plans with consumers and their supports.
  • Demonstrate leadership to drive high standards of interventions and maintain a positive culture in the team.
  • Actively engage in discipline specific and multidisciplinary team activities and meetings.

About you:

  • Have a qualification as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, with minimum of 5 years’ experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability
  • Committed to developing your practice as a professional in clinical mental health
  • Confident in the provision of support and treatment for consumers experiencing mental ill health and prevalent physical health issues, and their families.
  • Have an interest in supporting consumers prescribed clozapine, their supports such as family, GP’s, support workers, NDIS team
