Psychology Entry Level Program & Student Placement Coordinator

The NMWH learning, workforce and culture precinct, situated at Royal Park Campus, includes the Mental Health Training and Development Unit (MHTDU), Nursing and Allied Health Entry Level and Transition Programs. As a collective, we are dedicated to providing support for staff through the delivery and facilitation of high quality, engaging learning and development programs. Your new role:

 

  • Co-ordinate the delivery of psychology specific professional development to psychology Registrars and psychologists new to public mental health
  • Collaboratively develop and deliver interdisciplinary training to allied health and nursing entry level staff
  • Coordinate the identification, advertising and recruiting to student placements across NWMH by liaising effectively between placement supervisors, university placement coordinators and students.
  • Support the establishment of mentoring during the first 3 months of employment for new staff
  • Maintain links with academic programs and contribute to collaborative research where applicable
  • Contribute to the achievement of NWMH’s overall objectives/deliverables

 

About you:

 

  • Substantial experience in clinical practice in the mental health
  • Approved as a supervisor of Registrars with the Psychology Board of Australia with demonstrated skills and experience in professional (clinical) supervision
  • Expertise in workforce development including models and approaches that promote learning and practice development 
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in the delivery of training
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other disciplines
  • Well-developed time management and organization skills
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of the policies and procedures associated with the public mental health services
