Research Nurse
The Royal Melbourne Hospital - City Campus, Parkville
Part Time Fixed Term, 32 hours per fortnight (12 month contract)
Key Accountabilities:
The Burnet Clinical Research Unit are a team of people dedicated to research into the prevention and cure of type 1 diabetes. An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic nurse to become an integral member of the type 1 diabetes research team to oversee the implementation and conduct the Glivec Study at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated and energetic nurse (current NBV 2011 registration) who wishes to work in the research field. This person must have the ability to work independently but also as a part of a team, have a working knowledge of GCP guidelines, flexibility of working hours and have fantastic interpersonal skills.
Essential Requirements for the Role:
Current nursing registration
Extensive experience in venepuncture
Previous experience in clinical research
Working knowledge of relevant human research guidelines
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Excellent inter-personal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Well-developed problem solving skills
Highly developed computer literacy
Meticulous attention to detail
Willingness to work flexible hours when required
Desirable Requirements for the Role:
Experience in intravenous cannulation in adults and children
Attained or working towards Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education
Experience with social media and website design
