  • Fixed Term Full Time - Monday to Friday
  • Based in The Northern Hospital, Epping

Life with Us:

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team, to provide social work specific services, to consumers and their families/ carers
  • Provide specialist consultations, assessments and evidence based social work interventions to assist in better outcomes for consumers and carers
  • Provide psychosocial assessments, integrated casework service and other social work interventions, including: income support liaison, accommodation placement, application for Guardianship and Administration orders, NDIS applications, discharge planning, counselling, support and information provision regarding resources and services, to consumers, their families or carers

A Job to Be Proud Of:

  • Responsible for supporting and supervising the social worker grade 2 and ELP social workers on the unit. They will be required and expected to participate in, and provide, regular discipline specific supervision
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings each day. The required expertise and experience will also support discharge planning and be a key point of liaison between the inpatient unit and community treating team
  • Working closely with the Chief Social Workers in NAMHS to ensure service wide practice development

Your Contribution:

  • Well-developed clinical expertise and proven experience in either hospital or mental health settings
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team and across the Area Service
  • Independent practice and initiative, particularly in prioritising within an acute inpatient setting, with the capacity to seek supervision and guidance when required
  • The capacity to support the multidisciplinary team in Family/Carer/FaPMI sensitive practice and in particular NPU Keeping in Touch with Your Children Menu
  • Experience in family interventions, recovery approaches, acute inpatient and statutory care, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), discharge planning and community liaison will be highly valued
