An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Medicine and Continuing Care team of the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville. We are looking for a clinical leader who can continue to develop and advance the physiotherapy and Allied Health service in this area through quality activities and research.

Your Opportunity:

The Clinical Lead Physiotherapist will provide clinical multidisciplinary leadership for the largest RMH division. As a recognised clinical leader and an expert within a Medicine & Continuing Care (MCC) service, the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist will undertake a clinical caseload, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality and safe health services, while developing a high performing and sustainable workforce and driving quality and research within this area.

 

This role will work in partnership with key stakeholders to deliver excellence in patient care, teaching and research and to develop innovative models of patient care and service delivery to maximise the role of Physiotherapy and Allied Health across the MCC continuum.

 

The Clinical Lead will work with the Physiotherapy Manager and collaborate closely with the Allied Health management team to achieve these outcomes. You will provide direct clinical supervision of Senior Clinician staff and assist with supervision of other junior staff as required to lead the clinical and operational management of this service. A range of strategies will be used to address the following objectives:

  • Strengthen Allied Health MCC leadership
  • Develop priorities for innovation and improved service delivery
  • Develop and maximise use of clinical governance and infrastructure
  • Build research capability
  • Enhance clinical partnerships and collaboration

About You:

  • The successful candidate will have broad relevant clinical experience and advanced clinical skills as a Physiotherapist in an MCC setting.
  • In addition, a unique opportunity exists to provide leadership, advocacy and innovative change to physiotherapy, and the wider allied health team across MCC.
  • This clinician will be expected to contribute to the strong research portfolio within the team.
  • Lead Quality Improvement planning and implement initiatives in line with organisational requirements within MCC.
